Vera Polozkowa in Holland: Grand Concert and Presentation of the New Book “Lost and Found”
On November 24, 2025, Amsterdam will host a major creative evening by Vera Polozkova, one of the most prominent and acclaimed Russian-speaking poets of today. On the stage of the historic Zuiderkerk hall, she will present her new poetry book “Lost and Found” and perform a poetic and musical program together with composer and musician Alexander Manotskov.
The book “Lost and Found” is Vera’s first work published outside of Russia. It contains 77 texts about love, war, craft, time, memory, and the values lost and rediscovered. The number 77 was chosen deliberately — it was the age of the poet’s mother, who passed away last year.
“This book is about gratitude — for the gift of being alive and feeling everything more deeply, because no one knows how much time we have or what trials lie ahead. It’s about what we’ve learned after losing so much forever,” says Vera Polozkova.
A few years ago, Vera Polozkova and Alexander Manotskov reimagined the ancient genre of the antiphon, combining poetry, recitation, and music into a single form. They have since performed this program in over 30 countries, constantly updating its content while maintaining its distinctive concept.
In Amsterdam, audiences will hear both new songs written specially for Vera and beloved poems from previous years. Guests will also have the chance to hear excerpts from “Lost and Found” for the first time and purchase a signed copy of the book.
