Traffic restrictions planned on Frankenschnellweg in Nuremberg
The municipal Servicebetrieb Öffentlicher Raum Nürnberg (SÖR) will carry out resurfacing work on the Frankenschnellweg. The works are scheduled to take place from 24 March to 1 April 2026.
The affected section is located between the Sandreuthstraße bridge and the intersection An den Rampen / Landgrabenstraße / Volkmannstraße. Two lanes in the direction of Fürth and Erlangen will be renewed.
Preparatory works will be carried out between 17 and 23 March, partly outside peak traffic hours. Initial traffic restrictions may already occur during this phase.
Once the main works begin, traffic from the Nopitschstraße access will be reduced to one lane and partially diverted to the opposite carriageway. The acceleration lane at the Nopitschstraße ramp will be temporarily removed, and drivers must stop at a temporary stop sign before merging into traffic.
In the direction of the Nuremberg port, only one lane will also be available after the railway underpass at An den Rampen. A speed limit of 50 km/h will apply throughout the construction zone.
During the works it will not be possible to enter the Frankenschnellweg from An den Rampen towards the port. A detour via Rothenburger Straße will be signposted.
The construction site is expected to be dismantled on 1 April, after which traffic will return to normal.
