From February 4 to 6 (Wednesday–Friday), the annual international trade fair Fruit Logistica will take place at Europe’s largest exhibition complex, Messe Berlin (Messedamm 22, D-14055 Berlin). This year, around 2,300 exhibitors from more than 90 countries are participating. The event is organized by Messe Berlin GmbH.
Traditionally, Fruit Logistica serves as a platform to showcase current global trends such as sustainable agriculture, loss reduction and transparency in agricultural supply chains. This year’s exhibition focuses on developments in processing, packaging, automation, efficiency improvement and sustainability in agricultural production. Demonstrations of field robots, automated harvesting tools and precision irrigation systems are also planned.
Among other exhibits, the trade fair will present a wide range of fresh fruits and vegetables, dried fruits, various types of nuts, exotic spices, organic products, as well as flowers and plants in self-watering containers designed to ensure autonomous plant care.
Special attention is given to modern innovations in after-harvest technologies, meaning technological processes applied after harvesting. In this context, the exhibition covers the entire supply chain of fresh fruit and vegetable products, including solutions for packaging, storage, logistics, cooling and digital supply chain management.
The thematic focus of Fruit Logistica is aimed at producers of fruit and vegetable products, exporters, importers, wholesalers, retail chains and logistics companies connected with various sectors of agricultural production. At the same time, the event offers participants opportunities to enter new markets, conclude international contracts, find suppliers and buyers, and conduct strategic analyses of the global fresh produce market.
According to the organizers, key events at the trade fair include:
the Fresh Produce Forum and expert conferences;
the award ceremony for technological and product innovations (Innovation Award, FLIA);
the international FRUTIC Science symposium in the fields of robotics, imaging technologies and artificial intelligence (AI);
the startup zone and the digital solutions segment, presenting technologies and tools that use digital data to optimize and improve the efficiency of production processes.
